Insulated Chimney Condensate Drain with Side Outlet
Description and Purpose
The Insulated Condensate Drain (Collector) is the finishing element for the bottom of the chimney. It is installed at the very base of the vertical stack (usually under the tee) and acts as a bottom cap through which moisture is discharged.
Function:
During combustion and temperature changes, condensate forms in the chimney; precipitation can also get inside. This element collects this liquid and drains it out through a special tube, preventing the channel from becoming waterlogged.
Advantage of the side outlet:
In this model, the drainage tube is routed to the side. This is the ideal solution for chimneys installed on wall brackets. The side outlet allows the hose or tube to pass by the console support arms, whereas a vertical (bottom) outlet often hits the bracket's crossbar.
Key Features
- Freeze protection: Unlike cheap single-wall caps, this element is fully insulated (50 mm of wool). This prevents condensate from freezing inside the cup in winter, blocking the drain.
- Maintenance: The element is removable. If necessary, it can be taken off to gain access to the channel from below for cleaning or inspection.
- Durability: The inner bowl is made of acid-resistant stainless steel, resistant to the aggressive chemical environment of the condensate.

Installation Tips
- Mounting: The element fits into the bottom of the connection tee or inspection tee.
- Fluid drainage: It is recommended to attach a hose to the outlet spigot and route it to a drain or condensate neutralizer.
- Fixation: For reliability, the connection with the tee should be secured with a clamp or screws (depending on the design) so that the bottom is not knocked out by heavy tools during chimney sweeping.
