RENOFAST Stainless Steel Flue Locking Band (Joint Clamp)
Product Description
The RENOFAST locking band (joint clamp) is a key safety element of the chimney system. It is a profiled stainless steel ring with a screw tightening mechanism that fits over the joint of two pipes.
The main function of the band is the mechanical fixation of the socket (spigot) connection. It prevents spontaneous separation of pipes under the influence of vibrations, wind, or thermal expansion of the metal, ensuring the integrity and stability of the entire structure.
Purpose and Functions
- System Safety: The band rigidly holds the pipes together. This is critical because the chimney elongates when heated, and without fixation, joints can "come apart", breaking the airtightness.
- Detachable Connection: Unlike rivets, which make the joint permanent, the locking band can be easily removed. This is a great advantage for maintenance: you can disassemble the chimney (e.g., the horizontal section from the boiler) for high-quality cleaning and reassemble it.
- Versatility: Suitable for fixing joints of single-wall pipes, fittings (elbows, tees), as well as for connecting the outer casings of insulated sandwich chimneys.
- Aesthetics: The wide strip of metal covers the joint area, giving the chimney a visually monolithic and professional appearance.

Installation and Selection Recommendations
- Locking Band or Rivets?
- Locking Band: Recommended for sections that may require disassembly (boiler connection, complex bends) and for ensuring longitudinal rigidity.
- Rivets: Create a permanent "eternal" connection. Used if disassembly is not planned.
- For maximum reliability, both methods can be combined, but the locking band is the most convenient and versatile solution.
- Airtightness: It is important to understand that the clamp ensures mechanical strength, but not complete gas tightness. Before applying and tightening the band, apply heat-resistant sealant inside the pipe socket.
- Installation: The band has a profile (groove) which must fit exactly onto the protruding ridge (bead) of the pipe socket.
