Product Description

The RENOFAST rain cap (also known as a cowl or hat) is the terminating element of the flue pipe, performing a protective function. It prevents atmospheric precipitation (rain, snow, hail) and debris from entering the channel, extending the service life of the entire heating system.

The design of the cap is engineered to effectively drain water without creating obstacles for the free exit of smoke. The wide brim (pipe diameter + 150 mm) guarantees reliable coverage of the channel against driving rain.

Design and Installation Features

• "Male" Fit (Inside Pipe): The mounting spigot of the cap has a slightly reduced diameter. It is inserted inside the upper chimney pipe or termination cone. This ensures that condensate drains correctly back into the system, preventing it from running down the outer walls of the pipe and staining the facade.
• Versatility: Suitable for protecting metal (single-wall and insulated), ceramic pipes, as well as round liners installed in brick shafts.
• Material: Standard stock items are manufactured from stainless steel AISI 430 (0.5 mm). Upon individual request, manufacture from acid-resistant steel AISI 304/316 is possible.
• Custom Approach: If you need a cowl of a non-standard shape, with an enlarged skirt, or for a specific roof design, we can manufacture it according to your drawings.

Installation Recommendations

For long-lasting system operation:

• Fixation: Despite the tight fit, the rain cap experiences strong wind loads. Be sure to secure it to the pipe with stainless steel rivets or self-tapping screws.
• Material Selection: For gas boilers with aggressive acidic condensate, it is recommended to order a cap made of AISI 304/316 steel (please specify when ordering), as standard 430 steel is more suitable for wood stoves and ventilation.
• Compatibility: The element docks perfectly with RENOFAST straight pipes and sandwich chimney termination cones.
