RENOFAST Single-Wall Sliding Chimney Damper (Gate)
Product Description
The RENOFAST sliding damper is a classic gate valve for regulating draught in a chimney. Structurally, the element consists of a pipe module with a metal slider plate moving inside, which blocks the channel cross-section.
Unlike rotary throttle valves, this mechanism works on the guillotine principle: adjustment is made by pulling out or pushing in the handle. This allows for precise dosing of flue gas output and effectively "conserving" heat in the stove after firing is complete.
Design Features
- Maximum Closure: The sliding plate is capable of closing the channel almost completely (taking into account safety gaps), which is ideal for saunas and fireplaces where it is important not to let the heat escape after the coals have burned down.
- Carbon Monoxide Protection (Safety Stop): The gate is equipped with a special cut-out or limiter that prevents the chimney from being closed 100% hermetically. This is a safety requirement: a minimum passage for carbon monoxide always remains, even in the closed position.
- Control Convenience: The long handle allows you to operate the damper even if the pipe is hot. The handle position visually indicates how open the channel is.
- Material: The body and plate are made of stainless steel AISI 304L/316L, resistant to thermal deformation and corrosion.

Important Installation Recommendations
- Load Prohibition: It is categorically forbidden to rest the weight of the upper chimney pipes on the damper body. The thin-walled body may deform under the weight, causing the plate to jam.
- Weight Offloading: The damper must be installed freely. The weight of the chimney above it must be held by a wall bracket or clamps.
- Position: Mounted on the first metre section of the pipe, in a place accessible to the hand. Consider the handle extension range — walls or other objects must not obstruct it.
