Chimney adapter (reducer)
Insulated Chimney Reducer / Adapter
Description and Purpose
The Insulated Reducer is a cone-shaped element of the Izokompakt system designed for the airtight connection of two sections of sandwich chimney pipes with different diameters. Structurally, it completely replicates the pipe structure (inner liner, 50 mm insulation, outer casing), which eliminates the appearance of "thermal bridges" at the junction.
Main Application:
Increasing the chimney diameter. For example, if the boiler outlet is 150 mm, but a main stack of 180 mm is required for good draft, this adapter is installed.
Key Advantages
- Aerodynamics: The smooth conical shape without sharp steps minimizes gas flow turbulence. This helps maintain stable draft when changing the channel cross-section.
- Thermal Insulation: The reducer is a fully insulated element. A 50 mm layer of basalt wool guarantees fire safety and the absence of condensation in this section.
- Aesthetics: The outer casing can be made of stainless steel or galvanized steel, as well as powder-coated (RAL) to perfectly match the color of the main chimney.
- Correct Joint: The element is assembled according to the "condensate flow" principle, preventing moisture from entering the insulation.
Technical Specifications
The reducer is manufactured for the specific dimensions of your system. When ordering, please specify the lower diameter (input) and upper diameter (output).
| Product type | Symmetric Reducer (Conical adapter) |
| Inner pipe material | Stainless steel AISI 304L / 316L |
| Outer casing material | Galvanized / Stainless / Painted steel (RAL) |
| Insulation | 50 mm (Basalt wool 100 kg/m³) |
| Compatibility | All diameters of the Izokompakt system |
Important Installation and Safety Rules
- No Narrowing: According to building codes, the chimney diameter must not be smaller than the diameter of the heating appliance outlet. Therefore, this adapter is used primarily as an increaser. Using it to reduce the diameter is permissible only if there is a precise engineering calculation.
- Fixation: Since the adapter connects different pipes, both joints (upper and lower) must be secured with Locking Bands of the corresponding diameters.
