Insulated Chimney Locking Band (Joint Clamp)
Description and Purpose
The Locking Band (also called a joint clamp) is a critical fastening element of the system. Its task is to tighten the outer contour of two adjacent chimney modules (pipes, bends, tees), turning them into a single monolithic structure.
Important: Installation of a locking band is mandatory at every joint of the insulated chimney. This guarantees that the pipes will not separate under their own weight or from wind load.
Key Features
- Secure fixation: The screw tightening mechanism allows for a tight compression of the joint area, eliminating play and vibration of the chimney.
- Aesthetics: The wide metal strip covers the technological seam, giving the chimney column a finished and professional look.
- Material: Manufactured from the same stainless steel as the outer shell of the chimney, ensuring visual unity and corrosion protection.
Technical Specifications
The clamp size is selected based on the outer diameter of your sandwich chimney.
For Pipe (Outer Ø)
---
200 mm (for 100/200)
220 mm (for 120/220)
225 mm (for 130/225)
250 mm (for 150/250)
280 mm (for 180/280)
300 mm (for 200/300)
Safe Installation Rules
- Additional fastening: For maximum reliability (especially on tall chimneys), it is recommended to additionally rivet the joint through the clamp using stainless steel rivets.
- Large diameters (>250 mm): For pipes with an outer diameter exceeding 250 mm, the use of rivets is mandatory (from 6 to 16 pcs per joint), as the weight of the structure increases significantly. The use of aluminum rivets is prohibited (only stainless steel A2/A4).
- Sealing: Before tightening the clamp, it is recommended to coat the joint of the inner pipes with heat-resistant sealant.
