Round Ventilation Sleeve Coupling
A round galvanized steel ventilation sleeve coupling (also widely known as a female duct coupler) is an indispensable installation component designed to connect two ventilation fittings directly to one another. During the design and layout of air distribution systems, projects frequently require linking two molded parts without an intervening length of straight pipe — for example, attaching an elbow directly to a tee, a reducer, or a duct silencer. Because all standard ventilation fittings are manufactured by default with a downsized male connection profile, joining them directly without a specialized socket connector is impossible. This coupling seamlessly bridges that gap.
This component features a dual-sided female socket profile, meaning its internal diameter is precisely calibrated to slide over the external collars of the connecting fittings. Once installed, it forms a structurally stable and visually clean joint node that helps preserve the system's calculated air pressure parameters while preventing localized air turbulence and energy loss at the intersection.
Key Benefits of the Round Sleeve Coupling
- Perfect female socket alignment without gaps: The internal diameter is strictly calibrated to industry tolerances, ensuring that fitting collars slide into the sleeve tightly and symmetrically, completely eliminating mechanical wobble or structural misalignment.
- Internal center stop bead for balanced insertion: A precision machine-rolled center ridge (stop bead) runs along the midpoint of the coupling shell. This acts as a physical barrier that ensures equal insertion depth from both sides and prevents axial shifting during heavy on-site assembly.
- Automated linear seam welding for maximum durability: The longitudinal joint of the sheet metal blank is fused using fully automated linear seam welding machinery, which guarantees superior mechanical strength and preserves the protective zinc coating directly along the heat-affected line.
- Space-saving installation footprint: By allowing direct fitting-to-fitting connections, the coupling helps contractors assemble intricate air distribution loops and technical components within tight, highly confined ceiling spaces.

Assembly and Application Guidelines
This coupling is engineered exclusively for fitting-to-fitting connections. If your project requires joining two straight lengths of spiral-wound or longitudinal air ducts (pipes) directly together, this coupling will not fit; a male ventilation nipple must be used for that specific application.
During assembly, press the male collars of the fittings into the coupling until they sit flush against the internal stop bead. If the adjacent fittings feature factory-installed rubber gaskets, the joint is instantly isolated and airtight. When integrating non-sealed fittings, treat the contact interface with specialized HVAC sealant and wrap the exterior with self-adhesive aluminum duct tape. Fix the overlapping junction mechanically using standard blind rivets or self-tapping sheet metal screws.
