Description
The straight ventilation box (in-line plenum box) with two outlets is developed to provide enhanced air exchange in modern supply and exhaust MVHR units. Connecting two ducts to a single diffuser significantly increases the airflow capacity of the unit. The main design feature of this model is the linear (straight) arrangement of the connection spigots. The inlets for the flexible air ducts and the outlet line for the room diffuser are aligned on the same axis. This solves complex routing challenges in narrow structural voids where bending the duct at a 90-degree angle is impossible, guaranteeing an unobstructed, quiet airflow.
The body of the product is manufactured from high-quality galvanized sheet steel. The material is reliably protected against corrosion, which is vital for concealed installation in areas with fluctuating humidity (kitchens, bathrooms, washrooms). The rigidity of the steel box prevents it from deforming when cast in concrete floors or secured tightly within wall stud frames, ensuring high system airtightness throughout the building lifespan.
Spigot Modifications
To optimize installation time and adapt to project requirements, the in-line box is available with three types of flexible duct connections:
- OC Modification (Standard): The classic all-metal version featuring galvanized steel spigots. It requires manual sealing of the joints with aluminium foil tape or sealant. This is an economical and practical choice for projects utilizing standard assembly techniques.
- GM Modification (With Rubber Gasket): The metal spigots are equipped with factory-fitted double ring seals made of EPDM rubber, which retains its elasticity at temperatures down to -50 °C. This provides a quick, tool-free connection for the flexible air ducts, guaranteeing the highest airtightness class without the hassle of using messy mastics or tapes.
- PK Modification (Plastic Spigots): A technological solution designed for maximum assembly speed. The spigots are made of durable plastic with an end seal and integrated snap-locks. The flexible air duct is inserted until it clicks, resulting in a secure mechanical locking of the pipe, preventing accidental disconnection during subsequent construction works.
Advantages
- Increased Airflow Capacity: Connecting two ducts to one diffuser provides adequate air exchange for large rooms, eliminating the need to clutter the ceiling design with additional grilles.
- In-Line Design: The coaxial arrangement of the inlet and outlet allows routing the ventilation ducts in a straight line. This provides a highly space-efficient design during concealed installation and completely removes the need to bend ventilation pipes.
- Versatility of Application: The design works equally effectively for both fresh air supply and stale air exhaust. Both ceiling and wall mounting are permitted.
- Convenient Mounting: Cleverly designed external mounting tabs allow for quick balancing and secure fastening of the box using standard wall plugs and perforated tape.
