Oval Chimney Rain Cap RENOFAST

Description and Purpose

The Oval Rain Cap is the crowning element of the chimney system, installed at the very top of the liner. Its main task is to cover the channel from above, protecting it from external influences while allowing smoke to exit freely.

Main Functions:

• Precipitation Protection: The "umbrella" prevents rain and snow from falling directly inside the pipe. This is critical, as moisture mixing with soot forms aggressive acids that destroy the chimney.
• Draft Stabilization: The design acts as a deflector, protecting the pipe mouth from side winds that can blow smoke back into the house (backdraft).
• Fire Safety: The cap serves as a primary spark arrestor, breaking up and trapping large burning soot particles, preventing them from landing on the roof.

Advantages and Characteristics

• Durability: This is the most stressed part of the chimney (exposed to hot smoke from below and cold rain/snow from above). Therefore, the cap is made of acid-resistant stainless steel AISI 304L / 316L, which does not burn out or rust.
• Aesthetics: The neat oval cap gives the chimney a finished, harmonious look.
• Precise Fit: The connection size matches Renofast oval pipes (180x115 and 220x115 mm), ensuring easy installation.

Installation Recommendations

• Assembly: The rain cap is inserted into the oval pipe. For full protection of the roof passage, an oval storm collar (covering the gap between pipe and plate) and a top cover plate must be installed below the cap.
• Maintenance: It is recommended to inspect the cap during annual chimney cleaning, as soot can accumulate on it.
