Oval Chimney Top Plate (Termination) RENOFAST
Description and Purpose
The Chimney Top Plate (Termination) is a protective roofing element installed on top of the brick shaft. The product consists of a flat stainless steel sheet with a precisely laser-cut oval opening for the liner.
Applications:
- Masonry Protection: Hermetically closes the space between the brick shaft and the inserted oval pipe. This prevents rain, snow, and debris from falling inside the shaft, protecting the brickwork from wetting and destruction during freezing cycles.
- Aesthetics: Gives the chimney top a finished and neat appearance, hiding the irregularities of old masonry.
Advantages and Characteristics
- Precise Fit: The opening is laser-cut strictly to the size of the oval pipe (115x180 or 115x220 mm), ensuring a minimal gap.
- Durability: Constant contact with precipitation requires high corrosion resistance; therefore, the element is made of AISI 304L / 316L stainless steel, which does not rust and leaves no streaks on the roof.
- Rigidity: The metal has sufficient thickness to withstand wind and snow loads without deformation.

Installation Recommendations
The top plate is the base for the upper assembly. For complete sealing and proper system operation, additional elements are required:
- Joint Protection: A technological gap always remains between the pipe and the plate. To prevent water flowing down the pipe from entering this gap, an oval storm collar (skirt) must be installed over the plate. It acts as a flashing.
- Precipitation Protection: An oval rain cap is installed at the very top of the pipe to prevent rain from entering the liner.
- Fixation: The plate is fastened to the brick chimney top with dowels or roofing screws (fixing points should be treated with roofing sealant).
