RENOFAST Stainless Steel Chimney Top Plate (Shaft Cover)

Product Description

The RENOFAST chimney top plate (shaft cover) is an element designed to close the top of a brick chimney shaft around the metal pipe (liner). It acts as a "roof" for the masonry box itself.

Structurally, it is a flat sheet of stainless steel with a central opening for the pipe. The plate protects the brickwork from destruction by rain and snow, and also prevents debris from falling into the gap between the liner and the shaft.

Features and Benefits

• Brickwork Protection: Tightly covers the top edge (crown) of the brick chimney, which is most susceptible to erosion from precipitation and frost.
• Shaft Ventilation: The hole in the plate has a diameter slightly larger than the pipe (with a gap). This allows air to circulate in the shaft, drying out condensate, and allows the pipe to expand freely when heated ("play") without deforming the cover.
• Complete Solution: For full weatherproofing of the assembly, the plate is always used in pairs with a storm collar (rain skirt), which covers the annular gap from above.
• Material: Manufactured from stainless steel AISI 430, resistant to atmospheric corrosion.

Installation Recommendations

• Fastening: The plate is laid on the top row of bricks or concrete screed and secured with dowels. It is recommended to apply a layer of sealant or mortar under the plate to prevent water seepage.
• Custom Orders: Standard sizes (330x330, 400x400) fit typical brick channels. If you have a non-standard shaft, we will manufacture the item to your measurements (please specify the external shaft dimensions and pipe diameter).
• Mandatory Pairing: Do not forget to order a storm collar (rain skirt). Without it, water will flow down the pipe directly inside the shaft through the technological gap in the plate.
