Chimney Rigid Roof Bracing Kit 1500 mm
Description and Purpose
The Rigid Roof Bracing Kit (also known as rigid struts or V-stay) is a set designed for securely fixing the part of the chimney protruding above the roof.
Unlike flexible guy wire cables, these rigid steel profiles create a strong structural triangle that keeps the chimney motionless even during strong wind gusts. This prevents the joints from loosening and protects the roof flashing integrity.
When is rigid bracing necessary?
According to safety standards, the installation of rigid bracing is mandatory if the chimney height above the roof level exceeds 1.5 meters.
Kit Contents and Features
- Kit composition:
- Mounting Clamp (Fixing Clamp): Fits onto the pipe, equipped with lugs for attachment.
- Two steel profiles (Struts/Arms): Length 1500 mm.
- Fastening hardware: For connecting the struts to the clamp.
- Corrosion protection: Elements are made of steel, galvanized, and additionally powder-coated, ensuring excellent resistance to atmospheric precipitation.
- Adjustment: The length of the struts (1.5 m) can be reduced during installation by cutting off the excess, allowing you to perfectly adjust the angle to your roof pitch.
Technical Specifications
The kit is selected based on the outer diameter of the chimney.
| Product type | Rigid Roof Bracing Kit (Short) |
| Strut length (L) | 1500 mm |
| Material | Steel S235 / AISI 304 + Galvanized / Powder Coated |
| Tube profile | 20x20 mm (or larger, depending on load) |
| Available diameters (outer) | 200, 225, 250, 280, 300 mm |
Other Length Options
If 1.5 meters is not enough to create a stable angle (if the roof slope is too steep or the pipe is too high), choose longer struts:
Installation Recommendations
- Roof attachment: The lower points of the struts must be anchored to the structural elements of the roof (rafters, battens), not just to the roofing cover (metal sheet/tiles).
- Waterproofing: The points where struts attach to the roof require careful sealing with roofing sealant or special flashing pads.
