Insulated Chimney Bend 90°
Description and Purpose
The Insulated Bend 90° (often referred to as an "elbow") is a modular chimney element that allows changing the direction of the flue channel at a right angle.
Applications:
- Connection: Connecting the horizontal outlet of the boiler to the vertical chimney stack (usually via a tee).
- Bypassing obstacles: Offsetting the chimney axis to bypass beams, overhangs, or wall protrusions.
- Configuration change: Passing the chimney through a wall to the outside.
Key Features
- Thermal insulation: Turning sections are most vulnerable to freezing and soot accumulation. The layer of rock wool (50 mm) maintains gas temperature while passing through the turn, reducing the risk of clogging.
- Smooth channel: The inner pipe is butt-welded, ensuring a perfectly smooth surface and minimizing flow turbulence at the sharp turn.
- Reliability: The outer and inner contours are rigidly fixed, preventing insulation displacement.

Installation Tips
- Draft Influence: A 90° turn creates significant aerodynamic resistance. Try not to use more than 2 such turns per system. If possible, it is better to use two 45° elbows for smoother gas flow.
- Cleaning: Cleaning a chimney through a 90° bend is difficult. Be sure to provide an inspection hatch near the turning point.
- Support: When transitioning from a horizontal to a vertical section (via a 90° elbow), the vertical part must have its own support — a Wall Support Console or a load-bearing plate, so that the weight of the pipe does not press on the elbow.
