Insulated Chimney Condensate Drain with Bottom Outlet
Description and Purpose
The Insulated Condensate Drain is the bottom finishing element of the chimney system. It is installed at the base of the vertical stack (under the tee) and serves to collect and remove moisture generated during combustion or entering from the outside.
Design:
In this model, the drainage spigot is directed vertically downwards. This is a classic solution for chimneys supported by a foundation, or for shafts where there is free space under the pipe for connecting a hose.
Key Features
- Thermal insulation: The element features a layer of rock wool (50 mm), similar to the chimney pipes. This prevents condensate from freezing in the bowl at sub-zero temperatures, which often happens with uninsulated caps.
- Inspection function: The item is removable. By detaching it, you gain full access to the channel from below for inspection and cleaning.
- Durability: The inner part is made of acid-resistant stainless steel, which is immune to the aggressive acidic environment of the condensate.

Installation Tips and Alternatives
- Installation warning: If your chimney is installed on a wall bracket, ensure its design does not block access to the bottom spigot. Often the bracket's crossbar interferes with the hose outlet.
- Alternative: If there is no space under the chimney or the bracket gets in the way, choose the drain with side outlet.
- Maintenance: It is recommended to periodically remove the cap to check the cleanliness of the channel and remove solid soot particles that may clog the drain tube.
