Insulated Chimney Wide Locking Band
Description and Purpose
The Wide Locking Band is a reinforced version of the standard fastener. Thanks to the increased contact area, it provides much more rigid fixation of joints than a narrow clamp.
This element turns a modular chimney into an almost monolithic column. The wide strip of steel completely covers the pipe connection point, creating a perfect appearance without visible seams.
Key Advantages
- Maximum rigidity: The increased width eliminates play or bending at the joint. For smaller diameters (200-225 mm), this is an excellent upgrade for superior stability.
- Safety for large diameters: For heavy chimneys with an outer diameter of 250 mm or more, the use of wide bands is not just a recommendation, but a mandatory safety requirement.
- Aesthetics: Visually hides the joint better than a standard clamp, making the chimney look neater and more solid.
Technical Specifications
The clamp is selected based on the outer diameter of the chimney.
| Product type | Wide Locking Band (Reinforced) |
| Material | Stainless steel AISI 430 / 304L / 316L |
| Steel thickness | from 0.5 mm |
| Available outer diameters | 200, 225, 250, 280, 300 mm |
Installation and Riveting Rules
- Mandatory rule (>250 mm): If the outer diameter of your chimney is 250 mm or more, you must use these wide bands instead of standard ones.
- Joint riveting: For diameters of 250 mm and above, fixing the joint with stainless steel rivets (A2, A4) is mandatory. Number of rivets: from 6 to 16 pieces per joint (depending on the load).
- Sealing: Before installing the band, it is recommended to coat the joints of the inner pipes with heat-resistant sealant.
Alternatives
For chimneys with a diameter under 250 mm, if there are no increased wind loads, you may choose to use the standard narrow locking band.
