NordicPipe: Premium Class Black Insulated Chimneys
NordicPipe — Design Insulated Chimneys
NordicPipe is a premium series of double-wall chimneys designed specifically for modern interiors. If the chimney passes through a living room, a mezzanine (second light), or along a visible building facade, this is the ideal solution.
The main difference from standard systems is impeccable aesthetics. The outer casing has no visible seams; it is perfectly smooth and coated with deep black matte paint. This is full-fledged design element of the home.
Is this system suitable for the project?
NordicPipe costs more than standard stainless steel chimneys. Ensure that this choice is justified for the specific project:
- Yes, for the interior: If the fireplace pipe is not enclosed in a box but remains visible as part of the style (Loft, Hi-tech, Scandinavian style).
- Yes, for objects with high aesthetic requirements: If finish quality, lack of metal shine, and absence of visible joints are important.
- No, if the chimney is hidden: If the chimney runs inside a shaft or is enclosed by drywall, there is no need to pay extra for a perfect exterior appearance. For such purposes, our standard IZOKOMPAKT series is suitable.
Three Differences from Ordinary Insulated Chimneys
The NordicPipe system differs from standard chimneys in the manufacturing method of the outer casing. To achieve the effect of a monolithic pipe without visible connections, more complex metal processing and painting processes are applied. This provides the system with three key advantages:
Seamless Technology
In ordinary pipes, the outer contour is connected via a lock mechanism. In NordicPipe, the outer casing is TIG welded, after which the seam is hand-polished. As a result, the pipe looks like a single monolithic element without joints.
Black Powder Coating
Liquid paint is not used. The casing is coated with industrial powder paint and baked in an oven. This creates an impact-resistant layer that is resistant to scratches and high temperatures. The colour is a deep black matte that does not fade.
Increased Steel Thickness
For maximum reliability, an option is offered to manufacture the inner pipe from steel of increased thickness — 0.8 mm or 1.0 mm. This significantly extends the service life of the system under intensive load conditions (e.g., in saunas).
Selection of Inner Pipe Steel Grade
Externally, all NordicPipe chimneys are equally black, but the "heart" (the inner pipe) can be selected according to the heating appliance:
| Steel Grade | Application |
|---|---|
| AISI 304 (Standard) | Suitable for: Fireplaces, wood stoves, sauna stoves. Excellent choice for wood and briquettes in dry conditions. Optimal price-quality ratio. |
| AISI 316L (Acid-resistant) | Suitable for: Systems with condensate, gas boilers, or for maximum longevity. Contains molybdenum. It is recommended to choose this grade in combination with 0.8-1.0 mm thickness to create a "forever" chimney. |

Schemes and Documentation
The NordicPipe system is fully dimensionally compatible with our Izokompakt series but requires more careful installation to preserve the external appearance.
